Bio: 

I was raised in Baltimore, MD.  I went to college at Duke University and remained there for my MD PhD, studying the role of autophagy in T cells in the laboratory of You-Wen He.  I came to California for residency in Anatomic Pathology and fellowship in Molecular Pathology at UCSF.   I am interested in investigating fundamental mechanisms of immune regulation as well as the potential application of molecular techniques to the diagnosis of immune-mediated disease.
